Give Me Liberty Limited Signed Hardcover Editions

Script by Frank Miller, art by Dave Gibbons. All material and illustrations are ©Frank miller, Dave Gibbons and Dark Horse Comics.

This enhanced article deals with the limited signed hardcover editions published by Penguin Books in the UK in 1991 and by Dark Horse Comics in the USA in 1995. Note that original four comics were published by Dark Horse in 1990.

Let's begin with the 1991 Penguin Books UK edition:

This faux leather hardcover books (10 x 6.7 inches or 26 x 17 cm, ISBN 0-14-014378-5, around 200 pages, cover price 15£) comes with a fully illustrated dust jacket and an inserted 9.8 x 6.6 inches (25 x 16.5 cm) postcard signed by both the authors, and it don't look like printed signatures but the genuine article. I don't know how many copies have been produced. There is a picture below displayed for size comparison with one of the original comic.

The inner hardcover books contains all the material published in the original hardback comics, including front and back covers, and printed on rather thin slightly yellowed paper. Note that there is no additional bonus material in this edition.

Now, here is the US slipcase edition published by Dark Horse Comics in 1995:

The inner red canvas hardcover book (10.5 x 7 inches or 27 x 18 cm, ISBN 1-56971-045-7, around 215 pages, cover price 114,95$) was packaged in a blue slipcase (approximately the same size of the previous Uk edition):

The book was individually signed by the authors and strictly limited to 1000 copies, my copy being #61.

As well as the material published in the original hardback comics, the book includes all front and back covers (except for #1), and is printed on rather thin paper. The "dislocating" USA B&W illustration is missing.

This limited edition also contains a 16 pages bonus section of never-before-seen sketches and commentary about the creation of Martha Washington.
